If you are just starting to use twitter to market your restaurant online, then you are going to need some tips to get the most out of your efforts. Here are 4 tips to have a successful twitter profile for marketing your restaurant.
Post Regularly. Most times restaurants and other companies think that just because they have a twitter profile, that’s good enough. No, in fact, if you are not posting to your twitter profile regularly then you can actually be doing more harm then good because you are giving off a message that you are lazy. Set a goal, even if it is just 2 tweets per week, just make sure it is on your to-do list.
Be creative. Remember that twitter only gives you 140 characters; that’s not a lot of space to post a detailed message. When tweeting try to concentrate on those verbs and other words that will stand out. If anything use the 140 characters as an attention grabber to point out or direct your followers somewhere else where they can get more information, like your website.
Do more than just sell. Twitter can be a great tool to post your restaurants promotions, events, and anything else that helps sell yourself to your community; however, your followers want more than that. Mix it up; add tweets about things related to your restaurant, menu items, or even random thoughts about things you are developing for your company. Don’t just hard sell your restaurant. The best way to think of your followers is a group of friends that you are talking to; you want to keep the conversation fresh, interesting, engaging, and new.
Customize offers. Do you want to know if your twitter efforts are paying off? Then create a customized offer for your twitter following. Offer a special meal deal for subscribers to your twitter following. This will help find out if your twitter profile is working as well as give your followers an incentive to follow you and read your tweets.
