Fanminder Releases New Fanminder Offers, Giving Even Smallest Businesses ‘Big Company’ Mobile Coupon Technology

Small businesses using new channels to attract mobile-obsessed customers

Los Altos, CA – September 21, 2010 – Fanminder, a leading Mobile Marketing Service, today announced the release of Fanminder Offers. Fanminder Offers is a simple way for local, small businesses to provide mobile coupons to customers on the go. In this shaky economy, Fanminder Offers help consumers receive discounts from their favorite merchants without the hassle of clipping and carrying paper coupons or loyalty punch cards.

Your favorite small business can now alert customers to potential savings by instantly texting an offer to opted-in customers’ mobile phones. Customers simply use their phone to text back a four digit redemption code contained in the original text message while paying. Fanminder instantly returns a confirmation text message as proof of a valid coupon. No paper coupons to clip and carry, no store cards, and no fuss.

“Given the cost of new customer acquisition, building relationships with existing customers is vital for local merchants,” said Mike Boland, analyst with BIA/Kelsey. “Fanminder passes the simplicity test for busy small businesses, and comes at a time when discovery of local offers is in high demand.”

According to Yankee Group, businesses will distribute 70 million mobile coupons by 2013, soaring from just 2.3 million in 2010. And with 77% of mobile phone subscribers texting over 1.6 trillion texts in 2010, a local business is assured its mobile coupon will be viewed and generate additional business.

Paul Rosenfeld, Co-Founder and CEO of Fanminder says that “Fanminder Offers is just what the local small business owner has been asking for – an easy way to send a one-time use mobile coupon that’s trackable and expires. Now, small businesses can get big company mobile marketing that’s affordable and right for them.”

Using Fanminder Offers, a small business can easily:

  • Create, send, and track multiple, simultaneous offers.
  • Eliminate coupon fraud because each offer is validated by text message to be sure it has only been used one time and hasn’t expired.
  • Send offers to drive immediate sales, or schedule an offer for any day in the future.
  • View redemptions and revenues in real-time for all offers.

Fanminder Offers are now in use by customers ranging from artisan donut shops to hip, urban clothiers. Jordan Zweigoron, Owner of Psycho Donuts in Campbell, CA, said “Our first Fanminder Offer was a big hit with customers! But maybe the best part was that I didn’t have to ask the Nurses (my staff) how it went and I could just login and see for myself. Its easy.”

We’re spreading the word with American Express and DIY Marketers

By Paul Rosenfeld on September 18th, 2010

Today you can read my first guest post at DIY Marketers.

Ivana Taylor is the owner of DIY Marketers and we love her mission to quickly educate CEOs who want and need to do marketing themselves. After all, that’s our mission too.

I also just received word from American Express Open Forum today that I’ll be their newest Expert Contributor. I’m honored they selected me given the company I’ll be keeping: Sir Richard Branson, Anita Campbell, John Jantsch, Guy Kawasaki, etc.

My first post is October 1 and I’ll be writing one article every 2 weeks.

Writing these blog posts is part of our approach to evangelize Fanbase Marketing. The topic of marketing to your existing customers is growing in interest but still mostly ignored in favor of driving new customer acquisition with such tools as Groupon and Google. And with mobile marketing and social media tools growing more powerful each day, it’s a topic whose time has come.
